Welcome to my journal, enjoy your stay!
Today is Sunday. We have planned to go sight seeing for the whole day. Basically checking out the town central area.

You can customise your own car plate in Auss. Take for example this car. BEARS 2. Cool aint it? I heard from my friend that SG will be starting this in 2 years time. 2 years...

Tram 86. The only tram service from Bundoora to Melbourne City. The tram look like half MRT half train. The operator is TRAMS YARRA. Spelled backward is " SMART ARRAY" I realised it when looking at the sticker behind the window glass.

Inside the tram. Most of them are still using the paper like metacard. They still haven implement the tap and go service like our very own EzLink.

Two Aerosol Spray Abuser posed for me to take pictures of them. I was afraid in the beginning as I was holding my camera when they approached me. Luckily having some combat experience from TKD, I realised the area is too small for them to do anything to me and the tram is pretty crowed then. So I took 2 pictures of them. Lucky they are just friendlly and not trying anything funny. Come to think of it, they are photogenic.

Finally reached Melbourne city after 50 minutes of tram ride. Look at their graffiti! So much more standard and style compared to our Singapore's own$pay$ graffiti. Haha!

The area around the place we dropped. Myer is right infront of us! I will visit it later or during the last few days of my stay. Due to the tram services, there are alot of wires overhead. Something you will never see in SG. I think it is dangerous cause most are live wires. But anyway it is cool to experience such infrastructure. Thats all about travelling aint it? =]

Carriage service to bring you around the city. AU$30 per ride for around 20 mintues I think. Forgotten about the pricing. I notice the horses pee and shit over the street and no one cleans them up. Argh!

Stopped by this pizza shop. They are very friendly and introduced us to their local speciality. PIZZA. As I have just tighten my bracers 2 days ago, I ate very slowly. Chewing floods my eyes with tears. But overall it is nice to eat and the drink is nice too! We noticed that the eating habit here is totally fried stuff. Fast food, pizza, pasta and more fast food, pizza and pasta. o.O

More sightseeing

Went to one of the tourist attraction. St Paul's Cathedral.
St Paul's Cathedral is built on the site where the first public Christian services in Melbourne were led by Dr Alexander Thomson in 1836. Soon afterwards a small wooden chapel was built elsewhere, and the area became a corn market until 1848, when it was made available for the building of the bluestone St Paul's Parish Church. Consecrated in 1852, that was used until 1885, when it was demolished to make way for the present Cathedral. The decision to build on the site of the existing church was made because of its proximity to the railway and soon to be completed cable tramway service. The Swanston Street and Flinders Street corner remains one of Melbourne's busiest intersections today, ensuring the Cathedral a place at the heart of city life.
The Architectural style of the Cathedral is described as Gothic transitional, being partly Early English and partly Decorated. It was designed by the distinguished English architect William Butterfield, who was noted for his ecclesiastical work, and the foundation stone was laid in 1880. Butterfield steadfastly refused to visit Melbourne and the building program was beset with all the problems that arise from management by remote control. He resigned from the project briefly in 1882 and finally in 1884, and the building was completed under the supervision of Joseph Reed, who designed many of Melbourne's public buildings. Nonetheless, St Paul's remains Butterfield's final masterpiece.
On 22 January 1891 the Cathedral was consecrated, but it was not the building we see today. The erection of the spires did not begin until 1926, and then to the design of John Barr of Sydney rather than using the original design of an octagonal central tower and gable west end towers of Butterfield. In the 1960s there was extensive work carried out on the exterior, and in 1989 a major National Trust appeal to enable the restoration of the Cathedral's magnificent organ. It is acknowledged as the finest surviving work of T. C. Lewis, one of the greatest English organ builders of the second half of the nineteenth century.
St Paul's enjoys a long tradition of the musical excellence, and is one of the very few Anglican Cathedrals outside the British Isles to have a Choral Evensong on Sundays and most weeknights. Organ recitals are an integral part of Cathedral life, as are other music recitals, drama and art exhibitions.
The Cathedral also has one of the few peals of thirteen bells outside the British Isles, and they are a regular feature of Wednesday evening in Melbourne, when the bell ringers may be heard practising from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.

After much walking, we began to feel thirsty. Dropped by one of the shop and saw this water. Everyone rushed to buy this water? Why? Just another bloody water...

Went to Queen St to Queen Victoria's Market. Tons of things on sale there. So many! We only have an hour to spend there. Lucky my mum is not here. If not she will stay here for 5 hours! Seriously alot of things to see and girls will go gaga over this place cause the things are cheap and good. The strawberries are nice too. I wanted to buy back some to SG. Bur reckoned that they will not survive the trip.=

Went to the Melbourne Aquarium. Magnificant Place! Pictures do the talking!

More sightseeing. Legs are breaking!

Settled our dinner at Shanghai Noodle House. Not the best but very very expensive. $9.50 for a plate of noodles. Heart faint* After our dinner it start to get dark (8.30pm) Went back to our motel and drop dead. So many places in a day! But it is good given the chance that we will not be able to walk like this for the next few days.
